Trayectoria

After obtaining a degree in Fine Arts (specializing in sculpture), I decide to create lamps an extension of my artistic creation. My first lighting company is called Luz de Luz, and it intends to create little light sculptures that connect with the onlooker, rather than design objects. It is not by chance that they have names as Casas de luz (light houses), Botellas de luz (light bottles), or Tubo de luz (light tube). After interrupting my professional career because of giving birth to twins, I create the Totora family lamp, which I produce and sell during several years until Carpyen takes over this activity.

I became a designer because my Fine Arts studies needed a useful application

My light bulb turns on in the most unexpected moments, while looking at the things that surround me in my everyday life. I love the investigation part of a new project. The names I give my products come from its intimate nature.

The features I look for in a lamp are efficiency, poetry, and versatility. What I like the most in a lamp is when I can play with it, change its height, and so on. My proposals provide the houses and spaces where they are located usefulness and poetry. Special moments like reading, chatting, or meditation need a well-chosen lamp. When a lamp has become old, it must still keep a bit of its charm, and, if possible, still be up-to-date.

TOTORA (Pie suelo): The main breaking factor of this lamp resides in its elastic, hybrid, and mobile support, leaving it somewhere between standard and hanging lamps. Totora?s carbon fibre structure, which is telescopic and flexible, is freely installed simply with the tension between the ceiling and the floor. This way, light floats in space, denying the presence of its support.
